Finding wings near you
If you allow browser location access, your precise coordinates are used on your device to sort nearby deals. Our application does not store those coordinates. Our hosting service can estimate your country or region from your connection to suggest filters. You can choose an area manually instead.
Browser storage and accounts
We use browser storage to remember your area, nickname, votes and session. Anonymous voting uses browser identifiers; clearing storage or changing devices can reset them. When email sign-in is enabled, our authentication provider processes your email and sign-in session. My Wings stores your saved places, private notes and account-linked activity. Private notes are not shown in public rankings.
Public posts and photos
Comments, reviews, nicknames, chosen regions and uploaded photos may be visible to anyone. Profiles you choose to make public can appear in Top Wingers. Do not post personal contact details or information about others without permission. Photos uploaded through our photo picker are resized and re-encoded before upload to remove embedded camera metadata. Photos attached to Local Wing Talk can also appear in Wing Photo Wall and on the homepage.
Contact messages and place submissions
Contact messages, your reply email and optional name are available to the site owner. Restaurant website submissions are held for review before publication. We use this information to respond, maintain listings and handle reports.
Basic traffic and spam protection
We count page views and browser-tab visits, with a new visit after 30 minutes of inactivity. Visit records contain a hashed random session identifier, estimated country, timestamp and page-view count. These are estimates, not verified unique people. Our application uses short-lived hashes of network addresses to limit abuse rather than storing raw IP addresses in these records. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical connection logs to operate and protect their services.
Google bot protection and analytics
Public submission forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help block automated spam. Google processes technical browser and interaction information for this check under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not send your message text or email address as part of the bot-check request.
Google Analytics loads automatically on public pages and uses cookies to measure page visits and basic device and referral information. Advertising features are disabled. We omit query strings, personal account pages and admin pages from our page-view tracking. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
Storage and service providers
The current site uses Cloudflare-backed hosting, database and photo storage through Sites. Email authentication, when configured, uses Supabase. Information may be processed outside your country. We keep submitted content and operational records until removed through moderation or a supported deletion request; we have not set an automatic retention period for every record. Backup copies may remain after removal from the active site.
Location data sources
Some restaurant coordinates use U.S. Census address matching and © OpenStreetMap contributors. These are approximate restaurant locations, not visitor tracking.
Questions or removal requests
Use our contact form to ask about your information, request a correction or request removal. Include the relevant post or profile link. We may need to verify that the information belongs to you, especially for anonymous submissions. You can also clear site storage in your browser, though this does not delete server records.
